CFE e altre 22 associazioni europee chiedono agli Stati membri di approvare il pacchetto di semplificazione fiscale della Commissione UE: risparmi stimati di circa 8 miliardi di euro l'anno, meno oneri per imprese e PMI e riforma delle ritenute alla fonte.
Joint call to Member States
CFE Tax Advisers Europe has joined 22 other European business, financial and professional associations in a joint statement published on 28 October 2026. It urges EU Member States to keep the ambition of the European Commission's Tax Simplification Package and to reach agreement on it.
The signatories estimate that the package could save European businesses about €8 billion a year. They link it to the Commission's goal of cutting administrative burdens by at least 25% for companies and 35% for SMEs, supporting investment, innovation and growth in the Single Market.
Areas for reform
The statement points to unnecessary costs, such as collecting taxes that must later be refunded and requiring businesses to supply information that tax administrations already hold. Withholding-tax procedures are named as a particular obstacle to cross-border investment.
The associations want duplicated information requirements removed and the benefits of simplification delivered quickly where possible. They argue that a more coherent framework can still ensure effective enforcement, provided revenue considerations, safeguards and implementation arrangements are handled without reintroducing the complexity the package aims to remove.
